Imagine a big-time punk-pop trio from the Oakland area deciding, for fun, to record a cool song that reminded them of ’60s garage rock—adventurous, reckless, and edgy but with a “doo-doo-doo” party sound. Imagine the love-child of an unholy marriage between The Stooges and Tommy James And The Shondells. Imagine the track, “Mother Mary,” leaking out and amazingly going Top 20 Modern Rock. Imagine the mysterious “new” band then deciding to release an EP for free on the Internet. Now imagine a full-length album — an actual album you can hold in your hands, just like way back before the dawn of the new millennium! Imagine Foxboro Hottubs and the album Stop Drop And Roll.

Ha, pretty good. Fun shit. There are some really shitty tracks. Alligator is worse than I ever thought Billie Joe would be capable of, at least if I pretend the U2 thing never happened. 3.7 is about right.

7/9/2008 by Peter from Woonsocket, RI Rating:
Not impressed. I mean, I KNOW that its the guys from Green day and I KNOW that they can write better songs than this. The entire CD just seems to be 1 long repetitive song to me. Sorry that I do not share in everyone elses excitment about this CD. At its best it is "OK".

5/30/2008 by Kevin from Houston, TX Rating:
I never thought the day would come where I wasnt' completely goofy over something Billie Joe Armstrong put out. But, besides the track "Mother Marry"...I just can get into the other songs. I have listened to this through about three times now and I cant get into it. Plus it pisses me off to pay so much for the CD and it comes in a tiny paper jacket with no booklet or jewel case. I think Billie Joe is an awesome singer/songwritter, but I didn't like this.
