After a relentless touring schedule that found A Wilhelm Scream in far reaches of the developed world with bands like Rise Against, Strung Out, and Lagwagon, the band that Alternative Press hailed as the new heirs of the skate-punk scene, finally settled down in their second home: Blasting Room studios. Career Suicide represents the third trip to the Bill Stevenson / Jason Livermore well, a well neither dry nor stale. Career Suicide is just as smart, just as anthemic as Mute Print and Ruiner, but this time around A Wilhelm Scream speeds up their formula to a neck-breaking pace. And with a new bass-player, Brian Robinson, who keeps up with, and even pushes, the maniacal guitar duo of Reilly-Levesque, Career Suicide thoroughly pummels. That’s saying something about a band that’s never pulled punches.

Just when i thought they could not get more creative then "Ruiner", they have to come out with "Career Suicide". This CD is faster, heavier, crazier, more metal, and absolutely amazing! And what i love about it is that it flows like one crazy ass technical song with some of the most unique guitar shit ive ever heard!!!! buy IT! the first 3 tracks and the last one are my favorites, sample those if you are looking for some tracks to check out (5 to 9 is an amazing song!)

This CD is insane. The addition of the new bass player really adds a lot to their already solid sound. The duel guitar is fuckin nuts. Highly highly recommended. Good stuff.

I'm appalled that no one else has reviewed this yet. If I could give this CD a 10 out of 5, I would because it is about twice as good as any other new CD that I have purchased from this site. I have loved every other Wilhelm Scream CD, but this one is my favorite because it doesn't have a single weak track on it. The first line of the first song hooks you, and the damn thing doesn't let up at all. The new bass player really pushes the tempo on everything, and every song has some very fast and extra technical stuff in it. 'The Horse' and 'We Built This City' are both over four minutes long, and they are both well worth it. The lyrical content is par for the course with this band, as it is fast paced and definitely interesting. They put a ton of thought into the CD layout as well; the art and the booklet are very cool, and anyone who downloads this would be missing out. If I was going to point out individual songs that were awesome, I'd have to say something about every track on here. I'm not kidding. Buy this before any other CD out right now, and then buy Ruiner and Mute Print. If you like what you hear, buy The Benefits of Thinking Out Loud and try to get your hands on any Smackin' Isaiah stuff if you can (I haven't been able to). I feel that this is the best CD that has come out in the last three years, hands down. If you think I'm exaggerating, give it a try. If you like music, you won't be disappointed.
