A screaming blast from across the Atlantic, England’s Gallows have arrived to remind us of punk’s angry roots. Their debut album, Orchestra of Wolves, originally released in the UK in 2006, saw the band immediately heralded as saviors of the scene, “the best British punk band since The Clash” (Kerrang!), with “one of the finest displays of sneering, snotty attitude since The Sex Pistols.” (Total Guitar). Gallows combine the founding fury of bands like Black Flag and Minor Threat, blended with the melodic hardcore of Refused, and a brutally honest social vision, unflinchingly tackling topics such as hometown violence, date rape and broken homes.

| I heard alot of hype about this band being the first punk rock band on Epitaph in years! A friend of mine went to see them play and said they put on a really good show. But honestly...I just don't like screaming vocals. It kills the music for me. I knew a head of time the singer was a 'screamer', but I thought I would give it a chance anyway. If I was about ten years younger, maybe I would like this then. |

| This CD is awesome. It is great to finally see another Punk band on Epitaph after so many years of dissapointments from the label. The cover of Nervous Breakdown is fantastic, and the hidden track is much different from the rest of the album but still really good. I would say that the three real standout tracks are Kill The Rhythm, Abandon Ship, and the title track (which is my favorite). Also, this band puts on an excellent live show that compliments the album perfectly.
In other words, get this CD right now. |
