| Aggrolites - Reggae Hit L.A. |
The title track says it all. It reflects two concepts the band formed while touring. One: The desire to represent who they are and where they come from. Los Angeles is in their blood - the culture, the weather the complexities of the city of angels. Two: While touring the US, The Aggrolites were stricken with the idea that they love the fact that LA has a reggae scene; one they can dig every week of the year and that’s worth talking about. It’s not something you can find in the heartland.
Another track that explains The Aggrolites position on things is “Work It.” With it’s simple lyrics and traditional reggae M.O., the band found a platform to express their pride in being able to get the job done when it comes to entertaining a crowd and showing loyalty to their faithful fans. They have no problem saying to the world, you got to work it so you can get it and it ain’t easy!
The Aggrolites have 15 addictive tracks on “Reggae Hit LA.” They’ll take you on a rhythmic and soulful journey, one that leaves a lasting impression along the lines of “What a relief, I thought they’d never come – a real band with real talent, that is.”

| These guys are professionals. They pay homage to the pioneers of reggae, soul and ska, all with an energy that is becoming rare even in the punk scene. You want to know about reggae, you get this album! The Aggrolites really need to get more recognition for their excellent work. Check them out if you like Tim Armstrong's album (they do all the music on it!) and especially if you're a fan of Toots and the Maytals or any Trojan box set. |
