| A solid album, though boring and cliched at times.
Killswitch Engage, for many (myself included), was a 'gateway' band for listeners into the metal/hardcore crossover genre. While they may have up-ed the ante from previous releases, there is nothing ground-breaking about this record.
'As Daylight Dies' is well-produced (naturally, with Adam D at the helm) and has enough hooks to keep your foot tapping. But the record lacks a lingering aftertaste.
Definitely worth a listen; just don't put in on 'Repeat'.

| Its good and I like Killswitch Engage but they really didn't write a new record. It sounds like The End Of Heartache. TEOH was really good one of my better heavy albums but I already know that album so I would much rather listen to that one. Good music but could have been leftover from their previous album. |
