Go ahead, say it out loud: Punk. While it might technically be a four-letter word, it is no longer a four-letter word in the get-your-mouth-washed-out-with-soap category. And Much The Same aren't anything else but punk. No unnecessary screaming; no white belts and bad haircuts; no awkward mosh parts; this Chicago quartet are simply straightforward, faster-than-the-world punk rock, tailor-made to shred bowls or start circle pits to. And trust us, you'll want to be doing both after a few spins of their new album, Survive.

The album sounds poignant, impassioned and frankly, important. Punk rock needs songs like the ones Much The Same are writing: energetic and in your face while still being meaningful and personal. With Survive, Much The Same haven't merely made a record-they've made a statement.

Even if they're no longer active as a band, this disc is a must for your punk rock collection ! Fast and melodic !

11/30/2007 by James from Bristol, United Kingdom Rating:
Awesome album, possibly the best release of 2006, and there were some amazing albums that year. Fast, melodic and technical punk rock in a similar style to bands like, No Use For A Name, NOFX, Rise Against, A Wilhelm Scream, Strung Out, Rufio and Bodyjar. Highlights include, "Gun Shot", "What I Know" and "Skeletons". My only complaint would be that the album is too short, however if you visit their myspace page you can download an extra track. I seriously recommend you buy this album.

1/9/2007 by Jeff from Hartington, ON Canada Rating:
This a great cd from a great band who hold true to their style even with all the other old great skate bands going metalcore and shit like that. Not a bad track on here. Really nice to see that some of the bands out there remember the days when killer guitar riffs and a fast 'punk beat' were supreme. It's fast and melodic(about as close to a perfect mix...second only to beers and hockey)

12/16/2006 by Ashley from Middle Park, Qld, Australia Rating:
Great album, not entirely what I expected, I thought it was going to be a little tougher. Good to still hear this style of music being made, thumbs up to Nitro for signing some top new bands. This album reminds me alot of Millencolin's Life On A Plate

12/2/2006 by Brent from Perth, Wa, Australia Rating:
much the same are probably the best punk rock band in the world at the moment( apart from a wilhelm scream). just like everything i grew up listening to but still manages to keep it fresh and new. lets hope we hear more from them soon. stitches is song of the year!

11/28/2006 by Bruno from Joliette, PQ Canada Rating:
good cd,for a second album, they had keep the same style of skate punk as the first cd(quitters never win).in my opinion, all of the track on this cd is incredible.it s uncommon these year to find some type of band seems much the same.the great betrayal and skeleton are some of my favourite track.buy it if you like fast skate punk.

10/25/2006 by Kris from Calgary, AB Canada Rating:
Amazing CD, feels like all the great mid-ninties skatepunk that just isnt being made much anymore and I miss so much. Much the Same has saved the genre in their own way here in 2006.

10/24/2006 by Scott from Adelaide, Australia Rating:
Fucking Awesome! Much The Same are the most refreshing punk rock act ive heard since A Wilhelm Scream. They are fast, melodic, passionate, and just plain old fashioned punk rock! Its great to hear a band like this that is totally and 100% still about a sound that was massive to me a few years ago! Thanks MTS for continuing a legacy in music that i feared had been lost forever!

Get this if you like bands like Rise Against, A Wilhelm Scream, and basicaly any so-cal band! FUCK YEAH!

9/23/2006 by Lorenzo from Shelton, WA Rating:
This is one of those cds where when you first put it in, it comes off as only mediocre. But then it will echo through your head and you will want more and more of it. This band does something I havnt seen anyone do in a LOOOONG TIME. Good, Fast, Punk rock music. A tid bit more upbeat, and "poppy" then there last one, but still possesing that AWESOME aggression that bands seem to leave out nowa' days.

9/17/2006 by Marc from Orleans, ON Canada Rating:
This has to be considered one of the top albums this year. This IS punk, plain and simple. "Quitters Never Win" really surprised me and I was wondering if they were going to keep the same up beat tempo and melodic punk, and they did!!! So two thumbs up to them! Yes, it took a while to release this album but it was way worth it. My fav song has to be "American Idle." Gunner's voice is a big feature in that song I find. If you like these guys get some Marathon, The Swellers or even some No Trigger.
