The Briggs returned to the studio and have delivered their most ambitious album to date. Once again teaming up with Joe Gittleman (The Mighty Mighty Bosstones) "Back To Higher Ground" marks a step up in song writing for the Los Angeles based four piece. Fans of The Briggs' previous efforts will find that "Back To Higher Ground" still packs plenty of punk rock punch. The anthems and huge sing along choruses are still present.

I think this band has made alot of progression from their original 'street-punk rock' sound. On this release you have some neat well crafted rock songs. A step in the right direction...I believe.

7/30/2008 by Paul from St. Louis, MO Rating:
This is pretty good. I don't know if I would say that it is as great as the other reviewers. For some reason, it seems a little forced. That may be because of production. It tends to sound a little over-polished. I've had this CD for about 10 monthes now. At first, I was listening to it quite a bit. The songs are catchy and played well, but it didn't seem to have much staying power.

9/7/2007 by Michael from Wilmington, OH Rating:
Great CD. A little different from Numbers, but still great in its own. Tons of sing-a-longs. Had it since it came out and still on heavy rotation on my iPod. If you don't have it you need to.

7/20/2007 by Patrick from Parlin, NJ Rating:
Really, really good CD....catchy as hell...this and the album "Numbers" are your best bets....you'll find yourslef singing along in no time....If you like your music catchy, this is a must have for you!

6/26/2007 by Wayne from Emmitsburg, MD Rating:
This CD rocks! Take the Swinging Utters, add some Dropkicks and stir in a little old school Business, and you have the Briggs! Can't wait to see them live!

6/22/2007 by Jonathan from Albuquerque, NM Rating:
Hell yeah. This album gets an easy five stars. The Briggs are one of the coolest bands out there. If you have only heard their old stuff, get this! If you have only heard this, for Sid's sake get the old shit. If you don't have Numbers, get Numbers. This album is catchy.

10/11/2006 by Jonny from Stanwood, WA Rating:
typical briggs. great and makes you wanna sing and dance. vocals are a little differnt but there still good.

9/29/2006 by Chris from Statesboro, GA Rating:
A way different sound. I liked the rougher voiced lyrics and the older stuff. Hard to make the transition from "Numbers" to this CD.

9/29/2006 by Matt from Park Hall, MD Rating:
I am so happy that this album came out. Its a totally different Briggs than i have come to love, but it was no trouble loving this cd. All the power and anthematic rock songs you have come to expect. The biggest change is the vocals. No more throaty singing that you got with Numbers and previous releases. They remind me somewhat of the Street Dogs vocally. I wasnt even sure it was the same guy until i checked the booklet. I guess he wants to keep his vocal chords after he is done with this band. "Back to Higher Ground" and "Everyone's an Actor" are two fantastic tracks. This is definitely one of my top favorite releases this year.

9/26/2006 by Cam from Kingston, ON Canada Rating:
Perfect, literally as good as this could be. When I heard 2 of these songs on myspace, I got the feeling that this was gonna be a step down for the briggs, but I was wrong. This is their best release, and maybe the best release of the year. Every song is great, its tuff to choose favourites, they're all equal. If you like this band at all don't hesitate to buy this.
