Avant, progged out, psych' helicopter grind. This is what it started it
all. Before there was Pelican there was Tusk, comprised of 3/4 Pelican.
Get Ready for one hell of a ride. This release has been remastered,
contains enchanced video footage, bonus tracks, and new artwork by Arron
Turner of ISIS. Tusk is an active band and will be spazzing
throughout the country.

| The first time that I listened to this cd I wasn't that impressed; but now everytime I listen to it, it gets better. I bought it because it has both guitarists and the drummer from Pelican. I can sense some Pelican riffs but it's not that simialr to Pelican. It's thrashy and chaotic but not crap. Being that they went on to form Pelican, they can obviously play their instruments well. The singer has a unique voice and he goes in and out of screaming and his regular voice. I can sense traces of hardcore too. Think Pelican meets Cave In meets At The Gates. |

| you can obviously hear the Pelican sound underlying here. so if you're into them as i am, get this. it's good, but as far as grind goes it's not quite as spastic as i'd like, but i guess that's what happens when you listen to too much As The Sun Sets. Tusk's sound is way bigger anyway. the plethora of added bonus tracks are a nice addition, but it kind of gets monotonous to me if you listen to the whole thing at once. The musicianship and effort here definitely cannot be denied. hopefully they play live again, as not enough bands throw monitors around and cause consistent structural damage to venues. Get ready... |
