Soviettes

II

Adeline 32

Released on June 15, 2004

This item is not available for purchase. Sorry!

On the heels of last year's successful debut Adeline release, The Soviettes LP, and subsequent U.S. tours throughout 2003, the prolific female-fronted Minneapolis foursome went straight back into the studio and recorded 14 tremendous new tracks! Count on the same great pop hooks, diverse songwriting and infectious energy of the first album with more of a raw, unpolished, rock'n'roll feel on LP II. The sad songs are sadder, the party songs party more, the angry songs are angrier... you get the idea. Now get the record! "The fun and bounce of THE GO-GO's, the teeth and smart marbles of Reject All American BIKINI KILL, the hot-wired, charging punk of THE AVENGERS, and song topics that go far beyond boyfriends and bubblegum" - Todd Taylor/Razorcake

A real fun time, the soviettes are a great band and more people should listen to them. I have never been unhappy with one of their releases

Hands down, great c.d. The soviettes are just an amazingly good band, every track is saturated in catchy awesomeness and I have no idea why this band wasn't more successful. R.I.P., Minneapolis's finest.

This was an awsome cd. The only reason I gave it a four was because the depth and originallity of the first one just wasn't fully answered in "LP II." The first three tracks were by far my favorite, but all in all this is one you want to check out. If you haven't heard much of 'em, get the first cd, but if you already have it, add this to your collection.

Hot holy crap! I'm amazed that the little animal on the cover wasn't maimed and murdered by the content of this album. I don't know why, but The Soviettes absolutly blew me away with this album. Every song on here is miles above their contribution to the 'Rock Against Bush' comp where most people probably know them from.

Fourteen songs in just over twenty-three minutes might lead you to believe it's "hardcore" but trust me, this destroys pretty much the entire crop of modern "hardcore" bands. This band should be huge, and hopefully the move to Fat will do that for them. If this doesn't put a smile on your face then I don't know what will.

So far one of the best releases of 2004! Such an amazing and energetic group. This band certainly lives up to the hype. Billie Joe Armstrong (Green Day) was smart to sign these girls (& guy) to his lable! What I really love about this band, is that they don't seem like a bunch of stuck-up musicians. But, instead they just have a good time and make great rock 'n' roll people love. This is great band to get into!
