Smoking Popes have been a staple in the punk and indie rock scenes since the 1990's, playing a unique blend of up-tempo rock with punk guitars and Brit-pop influenced vocals. They helped shape and entire generation of music fans and wrote the book for Chicago's indie rock scene. Now, the recently reunited Smoking Popes are back with a full length live CD and concert DVD that will satisfy what fans have been craving for years! Smoking Popes formed in 1991 and released several albums on independent labels before signing to Capitol Records in 1995. Tours with Jimmy Eat World, Jawbreaker and Morrissey soon followed. They disbanded on December 19, 1998, but their die hard fan base and extreme underground popularity never faltered. A once-in-a-lifetime sold out reunion show at Chicago's Metro on Nov. 11, 2005 sparked a resurgence in Smoking Popes fans leaving the crowd yearning for more material. The highly anticipated release, Smoking Popes At Metro will be a full length live CD and DVD, highlighting the Smoking Popes historic reunion show and undeniably emotional live experience.

| I normally don't like live CD's, but this one is well worth it. I bought it (honestly) to get a free signed poster (which i didnt get yet, actually...) and was really surprised when I listened to it. If you like the Smoking Popes, or if you are just looking to check them out, you should definately buy this album. |

| This band is amazing and this record is a must have for fans. It's great to hear songs like "Pretty pathetic", "Megan", and "Need you around" live again. Definately buy this for the dvd as well |
