Shooting off one sonic fireball after another, The Fuse – recorded with longtime co-conspirator Darian Rundall – just may be the best-sounding Pennywise record yet. From the scorching opening anthem, “Knocked Down” – which serves as a forum for the blistering riffs of guitarist Fletcher Dragge and Lindberg’s scowling attack on the sorry state of affairs in world politics – to the electrical shocker “Closer” and beyond, these Warped Tour icons come out swinging and don’t relent. If the latter is an urgent blast that chronicles the frustration elicited out of the daily struggles we all face in the search for happiness, it’s also an ideal platform for the thumping, fat-bottomed wares of bassist Randy Bradbury and drummer Byron McMackin.

| Well, what can I say. Everyone knows this band, their sound. Yes this sound like so many old albums. Yes they're getting older. Yes, this is a good album. Like usual, Pennywise put out a great album with great lyrics. If you don't like their previous efforts, don't get this one... but if you love them... you know what to do! |

| Amazing record. I agree with many people's idea of Pennywise in that most all of their albums sound very much alike. But, all that means is that they've found something that works for them and they've stuck with it. For this reason, I commend them. Because of this reason, they have put out another brilliant slab of 15 songs of fast skate punk clocking in at 42 minutes chock full of social-political lyrics. Lyrical topics range from Jim Lindberg's coping with things going on in his life such as the music scene to his opinions of media, television, and computers and how they have completely diluted today's youth. I think its better than their previous 2003 effort, From the Ashes. If you are already a Pennywise fan, then you should already have this. If you are just getting into Pennywise, I recommend getting this or the live at the key club record.
Comes with lyric booklet complete with lyrics to all 15 songs. Since I pre-ordered I got a poster....there's always a good reason to pre-order from interpunk!!
Five out of five...EASY!
Favorite lyric from the whole record is from track 8, Fox TV: "If truth doesn't count for something, I choose to believe in nothing."

| This CD is amazing. It has a great flow to it so you can just put it in and listen to it all the way through without even wanting to skip a track. Although it's got nothing on older albums like "Unkown Road" and "Straight Ahead" this album still delivers the amazing Pennywise lyrics that we all love. Buy this CD. |

| I have been a fan of Pennywise since my days on the mini ramps at the local skate park. In fact I believe that you were issued a Pennywise CD when you first set foot in the park..... This is an absolutely kick @$$ album. From start to finish my heart was racing. It has everything a Pennywise fan loves and what the new little punks need..... Solid guitar riffs, and angry lyrics that will make you want to kick some @$$. |

| I love Pennywise, no matter if the last 5,000 CDs they've come out with have sounded the exact same, so expect nothing less of this...good guitar, good drums, good lyrics, but all done 5,000 times before by the same band. I just don't know what to do with them anymore besides the same thing I've been doing since 9th grade. |

| Pennywise will always be Pennywise; there is no real changes from record to record with them, so if you didn't like them before then don't bother. If you’re a fan that can enjoy Pennywise record after record with no problem then The Fuse will be no different.
However, I must say that The Fuse is one of my least favorites from their catalog, despite it being a solid record overall. I don't know why but this one just took me far longer, literally months to really warm up to. That never really happened to me with a Pennywise CD before this one. I know Pennywise fans that say this has been their strongest record in a long time but I can't really agree with that. It's a solid effort, I'll just leave it at that. |

| I was always a casual Pennywise fan, but after "Land of the Free?" I saw the band evolve into a punk rock behemoth with capabilities beyond the simple 2 1/2 minute song structure. With "The Fuse," the band reverts to the basic sound they covered on albums like "Unknown Road" and especially "Straight Ahead." Like the latter, the 15 songs here vary in quality ... there are those like "Fox TV," which are incredibly catchy. And just try listening to the chorus of "Dying" without wanting to sing along, even if you can't keep track of what they're saying! Yet, at the same time, the album is weighed down by pedestrian and sub-par songs like "The Kids" and "Competition Song." So this one's a toss-up ... a lot of good songs, but several bad ones as well. There are plenty of other good albums out there to spend your money on, but if you're really into Pennywise, this is worth it. |

| First and foremost, this is another kick ass Pennywise album. Fans of the band will not be disappointed, as they stay true to their time tested sound and manage to throw in a few new hooks, without sacrificing their rage. While the entire album is powerful and enjoyable, it is in the latter tracks that the album really shines. Tracks like "Fox TV" and "Premeditated Murder" are some of the best on the album, while openers "Knocked Down" and "Yell Out" maintain the band's edge. All in all, not a drastic depart from the Pennywise sound, but a great album and well worth a listen or 15. |
