AMP Presents Vol. 4 Pop Punk

AMP

Released on February 22, 2005

This item is not available for purchase. Sorry!

AMP has proven once again that it’s all about the punk rock and doing things right. Volume four of the “AMP presents…” series presents pop-punk, but made for the RAMONES fans, not the eMTyV nerds. This is pretty much a sampling of all of the best, current pop-punk bands from around the world. A lot of them you have heard of and already love, and a lot of these you NEED to hear and will soon be loving. This CD flows amazingly smooth, and will prove to be the soundtrack to festivities and good times for all. Gabba Gabba Hey!

Vol .4 Excellent stuff, nothing like bringing you back to the roots of the lieks like Screeching Weasel and the Ramones (which are not here obviously). But the bands on this comp are terrific and worth checking out on an individual level, like Enemy you & Squirtgun! If you miss your Leather Jacket and Chuck Taylors, heres a little reminder.

Personally, I think that the four 'AMP Presents..." comps are some of the most important releases of the 00's. All of them perfect snapshots of a specific scene at a given time and 'Pop Punk' is perhaps the best. I think there's only one, maybe two skippable tracks on the entire disc, and the number of bands that I've been introduced to is worth five times the price. Trust me, it's gonna be hard to NOT become obsessed with at least one band on this comp. My favorite has been The John Stamos Project, but there's plenty here.

good compilation..love the queers and mtx..but after about the 5th or 6th song they all started to sound the same..definitely worth picking up if you like the ramones-esque pop-punk sound, but could've been better

I bought this for my friend and apparently, like all the other AMP comps, it's great. It's a great way to introduce yourself to some of the better pop punk bands out there today

This is a good compilation. It is pretty inclusive of the post Ramones pop punk scene. There isn't anything new on here, so its not anything someone into this genre wouldn't have heard. It's a great mix if you were stranded on a desert ilse with only one CD and wanted to have all of your favorite bands with you. Kudos for AMP for putting this together.

Its an alright comp. There are some bands which seem to be a little less rock and roll and more weenie New Found Glory type pop. As a whole there are some good bands playing good songs.(Queers, Groovie Ghoulies, Methadones, Teenage Bottlerocket, Lillingtons)

Overall this is a good release. I was alittle disappointed with the song selection. Not alot of unreleased stuff, but still a good representation. Pop-punk is still alive! The Squirtgun song kicks serious ass!

Seeing the John Stamos Project among the world's finest pop/punk bands makes my heart sing. It's about time they got their due! Go buy their other releases!
