If you like Orchid, you'll love CD. The only track I already had was the real version of one of these demo songs. Other than that this was like a new full length for me. Unfortunately it is their weakest material when compared to their 3 full lengths, but this is still great late 90s screamo from this quintiessential band. Great packaging too!

11/29/2005 by Brian from Charlotte, NC Rating:
Fast/offbeat drumming. Throat shredding vocals. Riffs like you can't imagine. It's an Orchid compilation to complete you collection. Get it.

9/19/2005 by Daniel from Duluth, MN Rating:
Orchid was one of the best bands in the genre formerly known as "Screamo" (aka before the Used)

This collection of Orchid's early 7"'s and other various tracks is possibly the best item on Orchid's catalouge. The album is very frentic and well LOUD...the sound is much more chaotic then their later collection album Gatefold, so depending on your preference you may like one of them better...but then again THIS IS FUCKING ORCHID

6/26/2005 by Kathleen from Warwick, NY Rating:
This cd isn't quite as good as "Dance Tonight! Revoloution Tomorrow!/ Chaos Is Me" or the gatefold one, but it's still some of the best music I've heard. All the songs are really good, especially "Eye Gouger" and "Panoptism" or however you spell that. The only songs that I think aren't really as good are the ones from the split with Pig Destroyer, but they're still damn good. If you like Orchid you should definatly get this.

4/17/2005 by John from Wilmington, DE Rating:
Everything on here is amazing. I could write some long and pretentious review about this band's evolution and their contributions to music, but I'll spare everyone and just say that this shit is manditory. The tracks from the Jerome's Dream and Red Scare splits are some of their best, and the alternative version of "Weekend at the Fire Academy" is enough reason to buy this anyways.

2/23/2005 by Enrico from London, United Kingdom Rating:
It's Orchid, so everybody knows. I wanted to write this review 'cause to me this band has been a big thing. They swept everything away for me. Years of inconsequential groups, before Orchid, and ahead of them, more to come.

This band wrote the bible I guess, which is to say millions of bands after them insisted on doing the same thing, ending up sounding silly, unable to pull it off as sharply and thus being an unnecessary nag and making the world yawn.

Orchid were a real punch in the stomach: self combusted chaos, still everything in the right fucking place. The lyrics were perfect, the melodies were perfect and the sense of pathos, so intense in every tune they played. And that voice! Furious, cathartic, system-cleansing, unique: Orchid.

The day that you feel like telling the world to fuck off play "Hit The Ground". I doff my cap and kneel down. You should do the same. A group like this won't come out for other 15 years.
